Purchase costs of existing properties

Lawyer fees 1%

Notary fees, registry etc. 2%

For existing buildings, you pay between 11.5% and 12% in additional costs.

New construction

You pay VAT and no transfer tax for every villa or apartment in new construction. The VAT is set at 10%.

The additional costs are between 13.5% and 14%.

Summary: for an existing property you pay between 11.5% and 12% and for a new build property 13.5%-14%.

Mortgage guidance

If you’re looking to buy a property on the Costa del Sol, a mortgage can be a financially advantageous way to fund your purchase. AW-Estates is able to help you obtain the best possible mortgage for your new property. Non-residents can get a maximum of 70% of the purchase price or valuation, whichever is lower.
